DIY Lip Scrub – for Lazy People

Hello little sailors,

Unfortunately, I always struggle with dry lips in Winter time and I know that I am not the only one. I think many people have problems with that due to the dry heater air in closed rooms.

There are many ways to do something about it. But first of all; stay hydrated! Often if you haven’t had enough water, your lips dry out. It is very important to stay hydrated guys! 😀

The most common cosmetic used against dry lips is the chapstick, but you shouldn’t use it too much! It can make it worse.

I personally prefer a soft lip balm and sometimes a good lip scrub. There are many recipes out there that explain how to make your own lip balm.

LUSH and olive oil for lazy people!

For lazy people like me there are shops to buy it. My favourite shop for that is definitely Lush!

If your dry lips have to go easy and fast, but you don’t have lip balm handy just use a little bit of olive oil! Rub it all over your lips. You’ll see it makes your lips nice and smooth instantly.

olive oil

Olive oil contains a lot of vitamin E which protects your skin! It helps reducing wrinkles and tightens your skin while moisturizing as well.

You can even make a lip scrub out of the olive oil with not much more work! This can help you clean and soften your lips by scrubbing off the dead skin.

5 Minute Olive Oil Lip Scrub – for Lazy People

coconut lip scrub

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp of coconut sugar / coconut palm sugar
  • 1 tbsp of olive oil

Mix it together in a small bowl. Use your finger and gently rub the scrub onto your lips. Rinse with warm water and you’re done! Additionally, you can use your favourite lip balm now.

Let me know if you tried it out! Have a wonderful Third Advent today!

Farewell little sailors,

Jacqui
